T.O.'s Last Stand!

Terrell Owens career is at an end, but don’t tell him that. At the age of 38, you can say that he needs to come to grips that it’s all over. Doesn’t mean he can’t pursue other football gigs like being a football analyst. He would do a great job in that position with the personality he brings, T.O. could be the next Charles Barkley of football. He will go down as a top 5 wide receiver that has ever played the game. He is going to finish his career number two all-time in reception yards with 15, 934 behind his mentor Jerry Rice, which many say he is the greatest football player that has ever put on a jersey. I would agree that Rice is, but that is for another day to talk about. T.O. has been known for his competitive approach to the game and his off the charts antics. From dancing on the sidelines with the team cheerleaders to signing the football after a touchdown, he will definitely be missed. Owens could have made his career even more impactful if he would have got along with fellow players and coaches. I must say that you really don’t appreciate a person until they’re gone. That is a true statement and I think that many will miss him as well. Owens was a player that kept himself in tip top shape and came to play every game, even though he could have been a head case at times. He left it all out there on the field. Even in Super Bowl XXXIX with a severely sprained ankle and a fractured fibula, he almost won the game by himself with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2004. I can respect a player that has an injury and will do anything to win. He isn’t popular with the media and many households around the country, but I don’t think we will see another player like him in our lifetime. On that note, I keep hearing sports broadcasters saying that T.O. will not be a first ballot Hall of Famer when his time comes. Are they crazy to even bring that up as a debate or a conversation? T.O. will become a Hall of Famer and doesn’t matter if he is a first ballot or not. Isn’t the goal just to become a Hall of Famer? Wow, things are definitely changing in society on how we look at legends and what they have accomplished. T.O. just do what you have to do and make better business decisions in the future and you will be golden.
