A star is born in Los Angeles and his name is “The Bison”, a nick name given to Matt Kemp by Atlanta Braves announcer Don Sutton in 2006. Kemp is one of the best baseball players in the league today. We are watching greatness in front of our eyes today and many of us don’t even know it. However, L.A .does! Kemp was drafted in 2003 and has been called up in 2006. Kemp has everything most players would want; height, speed, power, defensive skill, agility and oh, he dated Rihanna. How could I leave that out right! Kemp plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers and is signed until 2019. After the 2011 season, Kemp signed a franchise record 8-year, $160 million contract extension. It was well deserved and they invested in the right player. He is no “Kwame Brown”, as Stephen A. Smith would say. He isn’t a scrub. With the Triple Crown in sight, Kemp has to do his best to stay off the disable list (DL). I know that injuries can’t be predicted, so with his youth being only 27 years old he will be able to heal quickly. I really look forward to following his career and know that he will win the Triple Crown and maybe bring the L.A. Dodgers to the promise land one day. This even might be the year where he will win NL MVP. Last year he finished second in the votings behind Milwaukee’s Ryan Braun. What are your thoughts? I want to hear your input.
