Free agent Ray Allen just signed a 3 year/$9million deal with the Miami Heat. Allen is one of the greatest shooters of our time. Allen will definitely be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he hangs up his jersey. I’ve been hearing and listening to many of you and the sports stations about if “Ray Allen is a Traitor for Leaving Boston”? Hmm, that is a great question guys. Hear this, even mediocre player Jarett Jack believes that Ray Allen is a taitor for signing with the Heat (USA Today, 2012). I believe that Allen is a free agent and can sign wherever he wants, but teaming up with the rival Heat isn’t the most popular thing that Allen could have done. Just a thought! There was talk that Allen didn’t get along with Rondo for the last years he played in Boston. I can really see this as a true story. I think Rondo let the fame get to his head. You can see it on the court when Rondo talks to his players and in the huddles; there is a disconnect. I think he is an unbelievable point guard in the N.B.A., but you can see a change in his attitude ever since the Big 3 got older.
Allen couldn’t take every year him being on the trading block or the last minute sweating on the trading deadline every Feburary. He just felt that the Celtics weren’t loyal to him, but what team is Ray? Look at Patrick Ewing; they oust him from the Knicks when he got old. Many players aren't shielded from the higher powers of management. This is not a good signing if you’re a New York Knicks fan I can tell you. He will be the Heat’s sniper in the corner hitting three pointers like no tomorrow. Allen will definitely get booed from many crowds around the league, but Boston will he hear it. I can tell you guys, Jesus Shuttlesworth has rubbed many sports fans the wrong way. Even when they lost Game 7 in the Eastern Conference Finals, he was all hugged up with the enemy. Good luck Ray Ray in Miami! What do you think about this story that lingers in Miami and the sports world about Allen taking his talents to South Beach?
